Eid Milan Celebration – We celebrated Eid ul Fitr to mark the end of Ramadan, at the Carlton Park Hotel. The event was a huge success, and attended by over 100 women from the community. The event gave Asian women a place to come and celebrate in a safe environment. The event involved a live fashion show, participants from the attendees to judge the best dressed.
Milad Event – Every year, Tassibee host an event to commemorate the Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him). This event is spiritually healing to all those involved in Tassibee, including volunteers, staff, and participants. This is usually attended by over 100 women, providing a platform for spiritual connection, and community bonding. The event was planned by volunteers who worked closely with women of the community and organised the food and refreshments.
Blackpool Trip – In August, we arranged our annual summer coach day trip to Blackpool for our volunteers, families and the local community. Fortunately, the sun shone down, and contributed to a fun-filled day at the beach that offered participants the chance to travel, experience new surroundings, and build friendships. Volunteers supported and befriended the less confident women and families in the community to enjoy a picnic on the beach.
Z came to this county 5 years ago, and has 2 very young children. “I had not left Rotherham since moving from Pakistan or been to the seaside.” Z was supported by Tassibee, and provided a volunteer buddy who befriended her on the trip. Z said “I was so excited and nervous at the same time. I hadn’t left Rotherham since moving from Pakistan. Tassibee staff and volunteers were there for me throughout the day, we bought fish and chips and ate ice cream on the beach. I had such a fantastic day, and now I can’t wait for the next trip.”
We had a fun-filled day at the beach, making sandcastle, sun bathing and enjoying freshly fried fish and chips.
